History

This Building Resilience Program emerged from working in Baltimore with City School parents and families. In the year after Covid, when schools went back to in person learning, we saw an increase in shootings around schools in Baltimore City. While schools were providing resources to students and teachers in the days after an incident, parents were left out of the training and systems of support. We knew that these parents also needed a space to process trauma and would need to be prepared to hold space for their children after school support diminished.

Building Resilience responds to this need and more by providing the tools to navigate trauma, violence, and loss that are present on a systemic level in too many communities. Through workshops coupled with one on one coaching, we reliably transform parenting practices, support families in healing from trauma, break harmful core narratives and intergenerational cycles, and help people develop the tools to reclaim self-love and connection with their kids and partners.

“Learning from and with you has changed my life for the better, and for that I will forever be grateful to you both.”
