Examining Frameworks

Examining our frameworks. We will explore what framework the people who raised us operated with and what impact it had on us growing up. We will learn to build deeper connections with our children through understanding when we are using punitive, neglectful, or permissive frameworks and learn the how and why using a more restorative framework is most helpful.

Connection

Learn why connection is vital to our health and happiness and how to connect with children, partners and friends through one of the most useful tools we offer— empathy statements.

Emotions

We explore the importance of emotions and how every feeling reveals an underlying need. We practice a skill for connecting with our own needs so we can more easily move past hard feelings. We also explore how physical practices and developing body awareness can help us maintain a regulated emotional state. We then practice connecting with the needs and feelings of others in our lives, so we can better relate through tension and conflict.

Trauma

We explore how trauma works in the brain and body, what’s left behind after traumatic events end, and how to manage trauma triggers to relieve stress and disrupt destructive cycles.

Coping & Epigenetics

In this section we will explore how our personal and familial history can result in us carrying different negative core narratives. We will explore how to rewire these untruths so we can change personal and intergenerational patterns of thinking.

Problem Solving

We explore a variety of communication tools that build off of the research around connection, empathy and emotion, and practice a process for regulating, communicating and problem solving during conflict.

Internal Boundaries

We will explore the challenge with being walled off vs. boundaryless and the need for containing and protective boundaries.
